How it Started
When I worked in recruitment, I loved helping people optimise CVs, prepare for interviews and secure their dream positions. But my role was heavily sales-focused, which didn't align with my values and personality. As I was looking to switch away from recruiting, I stumbled across the profile of a 'career coach' and was intrigued. Their approach felt more like a sales funnel than real support, making me wonder, is this what career coaching is?
Spotting a Gap
Thankfully, no, as I discovered lots of inspirational and genuine coaches. What I did find, however, was a gap. Many career coaches had previous recruitment experience and were great at job search strategies, but lacked the psychological frameworks to support deeper career transitions, and those with coaching psychology backgrounds lacked the industry or recruiting expertise to assist their clients in entering their chosen fields.
